LENKA CLAYTON deconstructed a shirt owned by Andy Warhol. The 57 pieces were packaged and archived for each 2013 CSA shareholder. Every person received a small box including a portion of the shirt, a certificate of authenticity and a small needle and thread if the group desired to sew the shirt back together.
Clayton is a conceptual artist whose work exaggerates and reorganizes the accepted rules of everyday life, extending the familiar into the realms of the poetic and absurd. She is currently serving as the official Artist in Motherhood, 2013. Her work has been shown internationally at numerous sites including The Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh; FRAC, Paris; Kunsthalle St. Gallen, Switzerland; Anthology Film Archives, New York; Galerie für Landschaftskunst, Hamburg; Tehran Doc Festival, Iran; and in mailboxes around the world.
